We are building a new Spanish style home in west Los Angeles and were searching for all wood, heavy Mexican doors to add old character. We contacted Mauricio Flores of El Porton, who met with us promptly. We brought him our ideas, designs, pictures, and measurements and received an estimate by e-mail for 14 handcrafted doors within the week! Our contractor needed the frame for the entry door straight away and El Porton had it ready for pick up a day ahead of time.

We saw our doors being made in progress and were amazed at the fine craftsmanship. Our front entry, made of cherry, stained mahogany, has fabulous iron grille work with an operable window we can open to catch the afternoon breeze! Mr. Flores saw a picture we loved of an antique door and translated it into a unique basket weave door for our pantry.

The bedroom doors are beautiful classics, made of alder with 8 panels that El Porton retrofitted for us with antique hardware. The master bedroom door is an eight foot, hand carved work of Mexican art that is breathtaking – el Porton really exceeded our expectations! I can recommend El Porton without hesitation because the quality of their work is exceptional, the deliveries on time, and the customer service friendly yet professional.
